Rennes is a very happening city which has maintained the right balance between economical growth and the well-being of its inhabitants. It has a wide variety of walks in the old town with the Thabor park, the parliament (which was destroyed by a a fire a few years ago and rebuilt to its original state with great success). The Cathedral is also worth a look for its architecture. You will find a lot of small boutiques in this part and one of the biggest food market in France on saturday mornings.
For all book worms, Bécherel , first « cité du Livre » in France is delightful . Its old bookstores and art galleries give the village a romantic atmosphere . Should you wish to pursue your trip through French litterature, your next stop is combourg, birthplace to the french writer, Chateaubriand and its famous « Les mémoires d’outre-tombe ».

The ancient town of Dinan, is probably one of the best sights there is to see in our region. This fortified city only 20 mns drive away with its viaduc and its leasure port will unfold treasures of our local history. As you walk through the paved alleyways you will come across the castle where Anne de Bretagne lived. On your path, you will discover how Brittany was reunited to France.
More history !! Do not miss an outing to the Mont St Michel. Situated 45 mns drive from the hotel, it is one of the most visited sight in the world. For you to enjoy it fully, leave early so that you miss the crowd (especially the coaches).
A little sea air could do you good ! Drive along the coastal road to Cancale. Stop there for lunch , this fishing village is well known for its oysters and other seafood.
Keep going towards St Malo with a short haul in Pointe du Grouin, walk along the remparts and admire the sunset. The large beach of Le sillon is a popular spot to enjoy the sun.
